It’s like he *knows* that Conversations With Van Gogh is writing a play called ‘The Harry Styles Appreciation Society’ or you know its just an algorithm on a website designed to make you happy but still, SUNFLOWER! My two passions in one place.
Somewhere on this planet there is a woman, or man, or non-binary person, trying to get over Harry Styles and he’s all up in their Calm app seducing the whole world to sleep.
And I just can’t stop thinking about that person.
Reading yet another biography where a writer/political thinker turns his hand to writing a play, as if they are remotely the same thing and well, this thread tumbled out. Stop treating theatre as a literary exercise for your starting point to rebuilding 👇
I keep coming back round to the fact that I need to rework and rework a form of that show and find a bigger audience for it. New ways to present the same argument. And I’m very open to talking to collaborators about this subject if anyone is interested in learning more
Back in 2014 I wrote a one woman show about Restorative justice that was @ZOOvenues - it was my first show and an ambitious project for a novice. It is more urgent than ever that we look at the prison system. Please read the google doc and the thread it came from and whilst this
is from a US perspective it is also true of the UK. I don’t know about the racial split in our prisons but I do know that inmates are overwhelmingly from deprived backgrounds. The system does not work. It never will work.
If you only follow me here then I’ve been horribly silent - but over *there* I’ve not been and sometimes I forget to extend the conversation here. There’s a host of reasons to do with not knowing what *here* is at the moment. Anyway, I am doing the work in the mirror 👇
I stand wholeheartedly by my unwavering crush (since about film 6). This is a great response, especially the paragraph about what the books can still mean to those who found comfort in them and today are hurt by the authors words ❤️
