Prayer that finally revealed the true living God to me :
“Lord Jesus, I’m tired of falling into sin. Grant me the wisdom to truly know you. Reveal to me why I stumble and don’t obey. How do I gain spiritual maturity? How do I get to purposefully know you?”
Try yourself, and 👀
Because you say all it takes for salvation is to “believe.” But what is biblical faith?
If you just say with your lips and believe that Jesus is who He says He is, then by going with your same logic, you must also believe the demons are who they say they are and put your belief into them too. Biblical belief/faith whatever word you wanna use is putting your faith into action. Scripture proves that. The Bible doesn’t lie right? James 2 is not taken out of context lol. What context is he speaking on then? He’s talking to the early church about those that simply just say they believe without any action behind it. Is he lying? Is the Bible just saying that to say that even though all it takes is just simply believing according to you? Read the scriptures. Don’t just cherry pick one verse at a time. Connect the dots big guy
Oh you are the one to judge my attitude huh? Hmmm
Wonder what the Bible says about that.
You don’t know what motive or heart posture I am saying those things. I’m bold. I know scripture. I humble myself everyday before Christ and ask the Holy Spirit to lead me. I’m not a weak Christian. Doesn’t mean it’s condescending. I speak truth from what scriptures tell us. That’s condescending to you?
I’m right there with you, if you wanna look through the thread, I agree, that Faith alone saves. Our works our like filthy rags to the Father. But we can’t discredit what James is saying, which falls totally within context of that. So how does that work? If the father views our works like dirty rags, but James tells us faith without works is dead, contradiction? No. Just takes a little discernment. I’ll help.
People that place their works as what makes them righteous (Bryson, and many others on this platform) are going to be very disappointed. They believe that their works save them, and they didn’t put their full belief that it was Jesus Christ alone. But a true believer has put their 100% faith into Jesus Christ’s FINISHED work alone. I’m there with you - same team. Where do we differ?
We differ in that a true believer will live out their faith, not just say it with their lips. If you truly have faith in Jesus’ finished work, you are going to live out that faith right? Hebrews 11 again explains what Biblical faith actually is. Biblical faith is living out your belief, not just saying you believe. Matthew 7 tells us Jesus will tell many to depart from Him even though they called him lord. Why? Because they didn’t truly believe. They just said they believed, but didn’t live out their faith. How does we know that?
Because you can read in James 2 where it says faith without works is dead right? So if faith without works is dead, but many believe that if they just simply believe will be told to depart from Him…where do we know how to have true biblical faith? Hebrews 11 tells you exactly that. Go read Hebrews 11. It’s living out your belief in action - biblical faith. That’s where the works fall into.
You place your full faith Jesus completed the task on the cross. You then understand that in order to show that actual belief it’s not just saying you believe, bc as we see in James 2, even the demons believe in Jesus - and shudder. So what makes you different than a demon if you both simply just believe? Faith. Living out your life with fruits that produce works showing your full faith into Christ.
Don’t trip yourself up. The Bible then again tells us in James 1 to be a doer of the word, and not just a hearer. You hear the word to just believe, but don’t do anything about it? Don’t fool yourself. Do some digging. You’re cherry picking verses instead of intertwining and connecting scripture.
Ask for discernment. He will gladly give it to you if you ask with a full heart. You discrediting everything else the Bible tells you, just because you see a verse that says believe? What does biblical belief actually mean?
Read. The. Scriptures.
@Troy_Arcadia@EllaFlash@EvanPaul05@BrysonGray Oh so you believe in demons? Great. I do too. So by your logic since you believe in demons, you believe with what they do and say too then? Because all you have to do is just say you believe and that’s what it is right?
@Troy_Arcadia@EllaFlash@EvanPaul05@BrysonGray Big guy…why don’t you go take a look at all the condescending stuff this lady was spewing. I was responding with love the entire thread. Where’s the hate big guy?
You keep responding to other people and bringing up, “Cowboy can’t be taught,” “take Cowboy to church, my following.”
I’m not even trying to argue with you…but if you wanna keep bringing up my name, I promise I’m not the one you want to go back and forth with scriptures on lady 😂 that’s the one thing I’m actually good at in this life lol. You can bash me for anything else, but you’re not going to “school me” on scripture, especially if you don’t even know some basic principles Jesus taught.
Read. The. Scriptures.
You’re right, you didn’t explicitly say it. But you said bearing fruit isn’t important to salvation. I have the receipts, if you’d like? You just don’t know scripture, so you don’t know what Jesus taught. Instead of bashing everyone online, like your page is full of, I suggest using that time allotted to leading astray that big following you have to instead read scripture and understand what He teaches. Have a great day, not wasting another couple hours going back and forth with you 😂
@Troy_Arcadia@EvanPaul05@BrysonGray So if you have faith without works but still believe…your faith is dead. Is dead faith permissible to salvation, you’re saying?
Oh. So where’s the baseline for common sense? It’s common sense for me to follow Christ. But not you, which to each their own. So where’s the baseline for determining who’s “the dork” and who’s not? I have scriptures and historical evidence backing up my claims. You have…your thoughts?
