Just 5,000 years ago, the Arctic looked very different.

During the Holocene Thermal Maximum, summers in the northern hemisphere were 3C warmer than today.

And life thrived.

Birch and spruce forests expanded all the way to the edges of the Arctic Ocean in places like northern Siberia and Alaska. Ancient pollen, macro fossils and soil records confirmed these weren't isolated trees. They formed sustained forests, replacing tundra with thriving ecosystems.

Permafrost back then was weak, patchy or absent. Peatlands developed, supporting rich life where frozen ground would later take over.

But around 5,000 years ago, colder and wetter conditions returned. This marked the neoglacial period. The trees retreated, permafrost spread. And the Arctic became the frozen, barren expanse we know today.

Yet the land still remembers. Buried trunks, preserved seeds and deep peat layers tell the story of a greener, warmer north. Ignored in today's narratives is an inconvenient truth: The climate is always changing, and history shows us warmth is beneficial for life.

What happens to men who try to escape from 🇺🇦military training centers?

An investigation by Babel into the Skelya Regiment offers a disturbing glimpse.

After one failed escape attempt and a severe beating, one recruit and his companion were completely wrapped in duct tape, thrown onto a concrete floor, and placed under guard. For an entire week, they were forced to relieve themselves where they lay. Guards would periodically enter the shed and beat them—some with rifle butts, others with military boots.

As soon as this punishment ended, Sasha and two fellow recruits attempted to escape again. They failed. The punishment was repeated. They were captured, beaten once more, tied up, and thrown back into the shed. This time, according to Oleksandr, they spent 24 hours there.

Afterward, they were brought out, handcuffed to one another, and transported to a training ground. An armed guard accompanied him and his partner everywhere. They slept on the upper bunk, still handcuffed together. If one wanted to go to the dining hall and the other did not, both had to go. The same applied to using the toilet.

A week later, Oleksandr says, the handcuffs were finally removed. He and the others were handed shovels and ordered to dig latrines and pits. When he requested permission to submit a transfer report and move to another unit, he was beaten again.

The use of duct-tape restraints appears to have been widespread. According to Babel's investigation, one training ground designated a section of a bunker for men who refused military service on religious grounds.

Later, individuals suffering from withdrawal symptoms were placed there as well. Those considered especially troublesome were duct-taped to wooden posts inside the bunker. People with severe mental health conditions were also housed in the same confined space.

"It was obvious these people needed psychiatric treatment," one of the religious objectors recalled. "We weren't allowed to leave the bunker, and you couldn't explain the rules to them. The guards beat them with rifle butts, fists, and kicks, then threw them back in with us. Some of our guys tried to help them."

Eventually, the bunker itself was locked from the outside.

Between 1944 and 1950, Allied forces and Soviet authorities forcibly expelled approximately 14 million ethnic Germans from Pomerania, Silesia, and East Prussia. Pushed out of land and homes which had been in their families for centuries.

NATO officials made it happen amidst chaos, deliberately driving women, children, and disabled seniors out of their homes during extreme cold weather conditions, using deliberate starvation policies; approximately 2.6 million civilians (including children) died, and thousands of toddlers and children were left to fend for themselves, forever.

Did you ever read about any of this in high school? College? Anywhere? No one ever tells you about what happened to the 14 million completely innocent Germans.

Police go directly for the circuit breaker panel to avoid being filmed

This post will be in English, because there apparently is a lot of interest in what happened to me yesterday.

I'm a libertarian danish privacy activist and former police officer and I have been doing activism for about 15 years.

I have had a bit of time to think about my arrest and the actions of the masked police that broke down my door - with no prior warning.

The prefece to the story is, that I in a kind of roundabout and (I think) humorous way published "my two favorite numbers" by spelling out a 10 diget and a 8 diget number with letters. I didn't tell what they ment, but they where prime minister Mette Frederiksen's social security and phone number.

I also published a screenshot of me trying to interview Mette Frederiksen on what app, asking her about her wanting to ban encryption (CSA) and introducing mass surveillance via granting the police intelligence services access to all sorts of information (medical journals, social media posts, DNA registers ment for research and so on).

That resulted in me being arrested by armed and masked police breaking down my door without me having any chance of opening it for them.

When the two civilian dressed masked men entered the apparentment one of them immediately went for the circuit breaker panel to shut off the power to my router. They then removed my Google Nest cameras - because they knew that the cameras contains local storage.

That way they could avoid having video of the (in my view) illegal arrest. Only the few moments before the power is cut was filmed. There is video of me asking them for the charges - and them refusing to tell me (which is illegal). But I can't access it, because they took the cameras.

I'm not even sure if that is legal. In Denmark it is (nominally) totally legal to film the police. That way it is possible to know what happened and it's not just your word against there's.

Denmark and the West are moving in the wrong direction, and it makes me sad.

The police and the government are in fact their own worst enemies, when they act in this way. It's almost laughable how bad they are at public relations.

The Security Service of Ukraine, on Zelensky’s orders, once again tried to kill me on the territory of Spain.

The assassination attempt was supposed to be carried out right at the exit of the courthouse in the city of El Vendrell, Catalonia.

To carry out the assassination attempt, two people were sent to Spain, one from Ukraine, the other based in France.

One of them has been a fighter of the Ministry of Internal Affairs special unit, the ‘Lyut’ brigade, since 2022, while the other is an SBU agent living in the EU and engaged in transportation.

In particular, this is exactly how weapons get into Europe.

Technically, the assassination attempt was supposed to be carried out using automatic weapons. After that, the perpetrators were supposed to disappear.

The methods of concealment used by the perpetrators indicate that the assassination was later planned to be blamed on Russian intelligence services.

The perpetrators arrived in El Vendrell in advance and stayed at a local hotel.

After that, they tried to intercept me at another address, and then left the territory of Spain.

May I modestly ask - where are these killers now, and whom are they currently killing on the territory of the EU?
