Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare plays for Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
He’s spent his entire club career in Ghana.
Now he’s kept a clean sheet against England at the World Cup, a nation whose players all feature in Europe’s top leagues 😮👏
I’m minding my business going about my agenda job for the day and then I read @lordcudjoe mention my name again.
They start it and when you respond they go about crying, giving motivational speeches.
For Franklin Cudjoe to think that, anyone in the NPP rates his commentary is one of the biggest self deceit ever.
You spend all your time singing the praises of this clueless NDC Government even in the face of bare fact failure and you think you have earned any right to speak to anyone in the NPP?
Next time you and your Son attempt to take someone on, do some quick background check. No one blackmails the 2026 NPP.
Go and sit down at the back with a chair 🪑 and listen to what this very well educated, enlightened engineer cocoa farmer is saying.
The days where people trade here in this country with patronage, information and access is over.
We are with the people, for the people and by the People.
You Franklin, you are for the government and with the government. You are basically swallowing everything hook line sinker from this government and nobody really cares anyway.
we are not on the same wavelength. And let me remind you again, if you mention the NPP anywhere, or bootlick the NDC, or mention my name anywhere, I will let you finish and then I will respond. I won’t let a single thing you say about the NPP, Dr. Bawumia or needless praise singing for this clueless government go unanswered. You can’t do anything about it.
You won’t get to speak and tell others to shut up, or attempt to direct how others speak. Where did you learn that from.
You bootlick the government and we speak for the people.
Live with it!!!!
.. as for @lordcudjoe , his repeated attempts to mislead the public on issues that requires the government to sit up and serve the public’s interests, it leaves much to be desired. He has once again proved he’s a self-serving advocate on the Afari Hospital project with some baseless claims and must be confronted with the incontrovertible facts.
The project is a TURNKEY contract, where the contractor is responsible for funding construction and receiving payments based on certified completion milestones. Every payment is triggered by an Interim Payment Certificate (IPC), validated by the Ministry of Defence’s Project Implementation Unit [all schedules for payments are in the contract’s Promissory Notes] and any commentary that ignores this fundamental structure is a deliberate distortion as he has sought to do.
The records before Parliament confirm that the original contract sum of $180 million as was agreed in 2008, with payments tracked through IPCs. By the end of 2017, the first year of the Akufo-Addo administration, 17 IPCs had been honoured amounting to $63.7 million, representing only 31.5% of the total. These are not speculative figures; they are captured in the 2018 Budget Estimates and presented to Parliament as part of the national record.
Further, delays caused by the prior NDC government’s decision to relocate the project from Kumasi resulted in an additional $19.5 million being added to the contract. Euroget, the contractor, subsequently raised further claims of $6 million, which were negotiated down to $3 million. The Akufo-Addo government paid $2.5 million of this, leaving a mere $500,000 outstanding. This demonstrates that the administration not only managed the project responsibly but also secured savings for the state.
By the time the Akufo-Addo government was leaving office, it had paid $138.3 million of the $202.5 million total, representing 68% of the contract sum. In stark contrast, the NDC had managed to pay only $63.7 million (31.5%) in the preceding period. The evidence is clear: this government treated Afari Hospital as a priority project, with payments steadily made and the debt almost entirely cleared.
To suggest, as Franklin Cudjoe does, that the project was neglected for eight years is not only misleading but a clear spin of facts to shield the government from acting on the demand of the public. Objective, rational, and independent analysis leaves no room for his narrative.
The facts expose his commentary as empty propaganda, and it is time he realizes he needs to cease gaslighting the public with falsehoods.

On Sunday, 24th May 2026, I had the singular honour of an audience with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at his Royal Palace in Manhyia, Kumasi. Our discussions centred on pressing governance matters facing our nation and how best to meet the aspirations of our people.
Later that day, I met with the Ashanti Regional Council of Elders of our great party, the New Patriotic Party, in Kumasi. I was humbled by the wealth of wisdom and experience in that room. We deliberated on key national issues of concern and the work of the Minority NPP Caucus in Parliament, and I called upon their wisdom and guidance to strengthen our resolve, sharpen our strategy, and deepen our engagement with the people of the Ashanti Region. I am deeply grateful for their counsel and remain committed to working in close partnership with them in the service of our party and our nation.
The Ashanti Region remains a cornerstone of our party and a beacon of our democratic values. As we navigate the challenging times we face in opposition, I call on every NPP faithful, from grassroots activists to constituency, regional and national executives to stand firm, stay united, and trust in the strength of our collective purpose. Together, under the leadership of our flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, we will continue to hold the NDC government accountable and return to office to serve Ghana with distinction.
