Elvir is the youngest victim of the #Srebrenica Genocide whose remains are being buried today. He was 15 years old. He will be laid to rest next to his father and two brothers, buried here previously. ▪️ #BosnianGenocide

Today, July 11th, we mark 28 years since the genocide in #Srebrenica in which 8372 Bosniak civilians were brutally murdered. 30 newly identified victims will be buried at the Memorial Center in Potočari. We honor the victims and survivors, may their stories never be forgotten. ▪️
On July 10, 1992 Serbs destroyed the town of Ključ, killing 264 Bosniak civilians. The youngest, Amila Džaferagić, was 4 months old. She was shot in the head.
Dutch troops failed to act as Serb forces occupied the area, killing about 2,000 men and boys on July 11 alone. Some 15,000 #Srebrenica people fled into the surrounding mountains, but Serb troops hunted down and killed 6,000+ of them in the forests.
Today we mark 28 years since the #Srebrenica genocide in which 8372 Bosniak civilians were brutally murdered. They were killed after Serb forces attacked the UN "safe area" of Srebrenica in July 1995.
