Young person, be careful when you become addicted to being validated.
It starts innocently.
You post something.
People like it.
You feel good.
You dress a certain way.
People compliment you.
You feel good.
You achieve something.
People celebrate you.
You feel good.
Then slowly…
You start needing people to approve of everything you do.
You stop asking:
“Do I actually like this?”
And start asking:
“Will people like me if I do this?”
That is where the danger begins.
You choose a career because your parents will be proud.
You stay in a relationship because people think you look good together.
You buy things you cannot afford because you don’t want anyone thinking you’re struggling.
You pretend you’re okay because you don’t want to look weak.
You hide your failures because you are afraid of being judged.
You even abandon good opportunities because they don’t look impressive enough.
And without realizing it…
You stop living your life and start performing one.
The internet makes this worse.
You see someone travelling.
Someone getting married.
Someone buying a house.
Someone making millions.
Someone looking perfect.
And suddenly your own life feels like it’s not enough.
So you start chasing an audience that doesn’t even know the real you.
Please understand this:
Applause is addictive.
The more you depend on it, the more afraid you become of silence.
And when you are afraid of people’s opinions, you become easy to control.
You won’t say what you believe.
You won’t take the road nobody understands.
You won’t start the business that looks crazy.
You won’t leave the relationship that is destroying you.
You won’t become who you were created to become.
Why?
Because you’re afraid people won’t approve.
At some point, you have to sit with yourself and ask:
“If nobody clapped for me, would I still choose this life?”
That question can expose a lot.
You don’t need everybody to understand you.
You don’t need everybody to approve of you.
You don’t need to prove that you’re winning.
Build a life that still feels meaningful when nobody is watching
The goal isn’t to become someone everybody likes.
The goal is to become someone you respect.
Let people misunderstand you.
Let them talk.
Let them unfollow.
Let them underestimate you.
Just don’t spend your entire life performing for an audience that will never have to live with the consequences of your choices.
Your life is not a public performance.
Stop auditioning for people’s approval.
Start becoming yourself.
Dear young Nigerian,
Above all, know yourself. Recognize your abilities and acknowledge that you have a significant role to play in how far you go in life. The limitations before you are the ones you accepted. There is more. Always go for more. Never settle. Thrive and excel.
Master of Laws programs in Canada are well funded. I've hardly supported or met an LLM student here who didn't get one scholarship or the other.
If you are considering an LLM, here are some Canadian schools where students I know got scholarships.

Dear young Nigerian,
Develop your own personal vision as an individual. To get from where you are to where you ought to be, you must be guided by a set of core values and principles. Your vision is your roadmap to greatness. Prioritize it, poolish it often, dare to dream again!
In 5 years, you will wish you started at least one of these earlier:
1. Learn a high-income skill
Pick one: design, tech, marketing, writing, or sales.
Use YouTube, Coursera, or Udemy and give it 30–60 minutes daily.
2. Start that business idea
Stop overthinking.
Test it with WhatsApp Business or Instagram and sell to people around you first.
3. Create content
Use your phone and start posting on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or X. Don’t wait to be perfect, just stay consistent.
4. Save money consistently
Automate it with PiggyVest or Cowrywise.
Even small amounts saved regularly compound over time.
5. Learn how investing works
Start with beginner-friendly content on YouTube and explore apps like Cowrywise to get comfortable.
6. Build something for yourself
Create a simple brand page.
Use Canva, start posting, and put your ideas out there.
7. Network intentionally
Be active on LinkedIn.
Share what you’re learning, engage with people, and stay visible.
8. Take care of your health
Walk more. Drink more water. Sleep better.
A healthy body improves everything else.
9. Improve your confidence & communication
Practice speaking. Record yourself.
Put yourself in spaces where you’re forced to communicate.
10. Try, fail, and try again
Nobody gets it perfect immediately.
Start anyway and improve as you go.
How to stay consistent:
→ Pick just 1–2 things from this list
→ Set small daily or weekly goals
→ Don’t overwhelm yourself
→ Progress comes from showing up consistently
Your future self is watching.
What happened to you, shouldn’t determine what happens with you for the rest of your life.
Everyone has an opinion on what you do..
The irony is, no one cares.
They're just concerned about their opinions.
And that puts so much pressure on you to be seen in their good light.
Rise above those limitations.
Live life on your terms to serve the purpose you were born for.

I need you people to understand that if you identify as a Christian, there are behaviours that we should not meet in your hand.
And if a fellow Christian sees that unchristian behaviour and speaks on it, he/she has done nothing wrong.
I hate to break it to you, but prioritising time with God, studying the word, taking captive negative thoughts, killing sin and walking the narrow path will make your intimacy with God and every part of your life better than anything else.
Dear young Nigerian,
Know this: you didn't become 'great' the day you started working hard, acquiring wealth and appearing on international platforms. No! You become great the day you speak to your mind and affirm that 'I am great'. You are what you say you are. Digest this!
There's nothing Jesus will not forgive you for if you repent.
There's no stain on your soul, no matter how black, that His blood cannot wash away.
Turn away from your sins.
Come to Jesus. Come and taste true love and goodness.
