Experiments included dancing rice, magnet balloons, battery motors, elephant toothpaste, travelling colours, lava lamps, coin colour reactions, flying rockets, floating tables, balloon explosions, salt & pepper friction, rainbow paper, sound chiming fork and bouncing bubbles!

Who needs @ScienceWeek when you can have Science Month!! The pupils had great fun taking part in lots of interactive experiments for our Science Month. We promise, no children were harmed in the making of these experiments! #scienceweek2018 @PDSTSciences

The festive season is in full swing as we made a trip to see the musical Elfie Saves Christmas in the @HawksWellSligo today. Thanks to the Talisman Theatre Company for a wonderful production! #itsbeginningtolookalotlikechristmas

Coolbock & Taunagh were treated to a magic show by Fred The Party Professor, teaming up as part of their @ScienceWeek which has turned into a Science month! Fred entertained & captivated the audience with a show full of magic, science, maths, music, drama, the arts & comedy!

They wrote lists of all the things they would need, read lots and lots of stories and much more. We did some art activities inspired by the Polar Regions although the children now know that polar bears and penguins do not exist together!

The Junior Room had great fun learning about the North & South Pole in their #aistear Polar Regions theme. The children learned about & played with polar animals, pretended to be famous explorers & mapped their expeditions from their Polar Explorer's Camp @PDSTLiteracy

@FireSligo We are very grateful to firefighters Ronan and Peter who very kindly welcomed us into the fire station and showed us around and were so generous with their time!

Super outing to Ballymote Fire Station. The children really enjoyed looking at and learning about all the machinery that the firefighters use. They had fantastic fun spraying water from the hose and also climbing into a brand new shiny fire engine! @FireSligo

Great excitement when the victorious @shamrockgaels Intermediate Champions visited with the cup. They took part in a special Q & A session with the pupils, with some interesting insights on the hard work needed in becoming champions! @sligogaa @SligoGAACandG @cnmbshligigh

The children had the privilege of being the first to visit a very memorable World War I exhibition, to celebrate Armistice day, in Ballymote Library. Huge thank you to Eithne and all the staff who gave us a tour of the library and an insight into life in World War I. @sligolib
