@UTR_Sports_ Serious question: is “level” the North Star here? Because chasing “level” at all costs means older, ex-pros, mid season departures (Kentucky, Arizona State), and fewer spots for 18 year old Americans. “Level” within boundaries needs discussion.
@College10sRanks@PatrickMcEnroe This is such an unnecessarily hostile response. “Before opening your mouth” and “moron”? Really? You do such great work and are an amazing asset to college tennis. I’m disappointed to see your reaction to someone who simply disagrees with your view.
@AlGruskin Why is the USTA investing millions on hosting NCAAs when ~ 70% of the field is foreign? That’s U.S. development money disproportionately benefiting non U.S. players. And the lack of a pathway for American juniors = declining participation and a pipeline problem.
@JTweetsTennis Seems hard to imagine this is growing the game. Junior players here in the states have a very hard time seeing a pathway to compete in college. And it isn’t just Wake - Texas is lead by a 22 year old FRESHMAN from France. What are we doing here?
@JTweetsTennis What about taking the Linder Tennis Center in Cincinnati (since we are losing the WS Open) and making it the permanent home of the Men’s and Women’s individual championships when they move to the Fall? Make it like Omaha is for baseball where one city can grow the event.
@AlGruskin - good idea or bad? - turning the Western Southern Open’s Linder facility into an annual host for Men’s and Women’s individual championships when they move to the Fall. Make it like Omaha for Baseball where one city can grow the event over time.
@JTweetsTennis@OhioStateMTEN Thanks! We came down last week for the team tournament - not sure how I would’ve been able to follow this week’s action without you.
