Thankful to be part of @talbottheology and its Marriage and Family Therapy program! And I got to shake @edstetzer hand this week at baccalaureate so it’s been a good week🙏😅
It was a joy to celebrate our #BiolaGrad students today! Praise be to God for our graduating Class of 2024! We are so grateful for your diligence, graciousness and willingness to serve, as you embark on what God has for you next!
We become a hindrance rather than a help when we greet those who suffer with statements such as: “If you would only... pray more, read Scripture more, believe more, stop thinking about yourself, put the past behind you.” This puts heavy burdens on already bowed backs.
Therapists, when working with trauma, be careful and wary of quick fixes; move slowly. You will need training and great wisdom for the diagnostic process and for the treatment process. Consult, consult, consult. Study, read, and attend training sessions.
We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.
Sometimes I find out irl or thru social media that some ppl I know from different contexts/social groups know each other and it’s just one of the most confusing things ever
There’s a lot I don’t know. A lot I can’t explain. But I know this. I know the Lord loves you. I know he is patient, kind, merciful, good. He knows what you’ve been through. He knows what has broken, numbed or hardened your heart. Jesus can be trusted. No deception dwells in him.
