See?! I love THIS! Fan imagination! Filling in the holes. Saying "Yes and!" not "No, actually!" Reminds me of a magical time long gone. Before social media and algorithms. Where fandoms had to actually physically gather to discuss Trek. It was hard. Imagine not being able instantly access thousands of like-minded souls online. It meant taking a train from – in my case – your Podunk town to the nearest city for a convention. But once you were there? Well, THESE were your people. It was different then. Fans were so thrilled to have found each other, we celebrated our geeky passions. Instead shit-picking the nature of starship refits, we’d use our own imaginations to fill in those gaps. What if THIS? What if THAT? I remember sitting with fans I didn’t know in NYC looking at schematics of the brand-new Enterprise D pondering what the Hell all they could mean. Anyway… I’m for more of this. Carry on…
