Pragmata is another in a recent trend of adding a sort of mini-game angle (hacking) to an existing genre. It definitely feels like a lot of modern games need this something extra as people become more familiar with game mechanics earlier on in their lives.
@Jungroan Feels like an extraordinarily targeted nerf given that there are very few other effects unaffected by changes in expiry rate, basically just Rage and Focus.
I remember having so much fun playing Terra Battle during commute. Sakaguchi really had gold on his hands, then beefed it so hard with a dreadful sequel that was shut down within 2 weeks.
To this day I wish there's a game like this.
Do you all know about "Magic Castle"? A PS1 Net Yaroze game that couldn't be finished at the time because of a lack of budget, but was finally released 23 years later!
It's a roguelike action-RPG that is quite fun even today with some cool ideas and great music!

One of the most interesting things about Cruelty Squad is that is has very strictly enforced easy modes. It's a game that feels and looks like it is actively punishing you but if you fail even once, the game is easier. It very successfully creates an invitation to challenge.
