@IsabellaMDeLuca UnionPay runs through Discover's network (since '05). Only observes UnionPay cards (Chinese tourists/students). Networks don't read transactions of other networks. Real concern is US GOV's inability to reliably monitor these transactions vs. visitors from other nations.
🚨BREAKING: Kimi K3 escaped its sandbox during cybersecurity testing
>tasked with solving problems in isolated sandbox
>found a leak in the sandbox
>Kimi “took advantage of that loophole”
>probed the network settings itself
>walks onto the open internet
>didn’t hack anything
>just went to GitHub to get the answers
Frontier Security (US startup):
>“Kimi K3 is very good at following a goal by any means necessary and DOESN’T have the guardrails to prevent it from cheating or escaping.”
it was only a matter of time…
I’m still confused by the whole “vibe coding” concept.
When I’m working with Claude or Codex, I push back constantly, especially during the planning phase. We go back and forth on architecture, product decisions, and implementation before any code gets written.
Ironically, I spend far less time reviewing the code itself than I do challenging the plan.
So I’m curious…
Do vibe coders just let the AI rip and hope the database schema, migrations, architecture, and everything else work out?
Or is “vibe coding” mostly being used to build demos and static websites rather than real production applications?
yeah, no.
the average consumer has a near zero need for offloading cognitive work. what they need is their netflix and their doordash — your job as a consumer is literally to chill tf out and stay happy and motivated
if you dont intuit this as obvious you're most likely neck-deep in a muck of motivated reasoning as a consumer founder / VC
okay you can use agents to search the web and synthesize findings on what to buy. okay you have cognitive chores like filing tax returns and sifting thru email. sounds like great features to bake into google and gmail!
on the other hand, your job as a knowledge worker is to convert your cognition into something of economic value — and then because of competitive market dynamics, you'll also need all the cognitive amplification that's available on the market.
the biggest problems need the most cognition. the consumer takes care of problems scoped to themselves. the knowledge workers together take care problems concerning society.
when we look back, we'll remember how AI agents helped us cure cancer, not how your agent helped you order pizza over imessage.
@joshm Reflecting on my pre-GPT semesters of college, building skills/agents probably would have cut my homework time in half.
That said the UX of running cc in terminal and building these probably just feels too technical for most students.
