This is one part of AT's monologue that I do agree with
There is an absolute torrent of unacceptable and disgusting speech directed at many different actors throughout the league and this episode is only the most recent example
However, to my knowledge there have only been 2 arrests made in total regarding people who have tried to actually make good on their online statements, and those statements were made in regards to Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham
So where's the solidarity and compassion from AT when stuff like that happens?
This is not a problem that can be directly solved by the league office, it's not like they can fine or suspend bad faith online actors
The only way to address this problem in my opinion is to turn down the temperature among various factions present in the league - black v white, old guard v new guard, straight v gay, Fever v Basically Everyone Else, etc
My impression is that the Fever girls have been pretty open to stuff like that - Caitlin herself has been nothing but conciliatory and praise focused in all of her public statements
If you want to turn down the temperature of toxicity that permeates the league and the discourse surrounding it, I'm afraid, Alyssa Thomas, that it starts with YOU
(A good first step might be apologizing to Caitlin for that cheap shot which may or may not have taken her out for longer than the duration of your suspension instead of denying that it happened, I dunno just a suggestion)
a good middle manager looks like a guy who just drinks coffee and forwards emails, but his actual job is secretly absorbing insane executive requests so the team can just do their work
Ever since I was a little girl I always knew I wanted to play the role of Wife Who Aggressively Lotions Her Body While Having A Conversation With Her Husband At Bedtime
none of you are going to convince me that letting the seventeen basketball fans in Oklahoma City celebrate again is going to be worse than living through a lifetime of Knicks fans trying to convince me Jalen Brunson is top ten all time.
