If you see a swift like this. Pick it up, hold it up, and let it fly off. They can't take off from the ground or flat surfaces. RT this. It could save a swift.
It's #GardenWildlifeWeek…but did you know #hedgehogs travel around 1 mile per night?🦔
Help by making 13 x 13cm square gaps in fences & walls so they can pass through!👉 https://t.co/8xJxkAdVPj

RT if you’d like to see more green spaces boosting biodiversity, benefitting people’s health, and providing a lifeline for pollinating insects like this inspiring wildflower meadow at @Kings_College at @Cambridge_Uni. Congratulations to all involved. Let’s bring nature back 🐝
Aware of peak “grumpy old man” here but faith in humanity is low today. Why celebrate your Baby Boy arriving in the world by letting off sky litter to land in an old oak tree ready to entangle the Barn Owl chicks about to emerge?! Because this is where they end up!
Let the dandelions grow! They support over 50 insects species, and are a great early season food source for pollinators like bees, butterflies, hoverflies. No need to mow and ps don't use weedkiller. More: https://t.co/LTHoexLYQs RT if you're on board 🐝
So much stuff washed onto beach on last months spring tide. Been picking up what I can daily for past 10 days but with a bad back recently it’s been tricky. Not made a dent in it yet😩
Below incident shows the real risk of offloading and on-loading with tankers when it goes wrong, this incident in Ya’an City in China’s southwestern Sichuan Province was caused when an accidental release of LPG took place.
This then leads to the vapour cloud finding an ignition source, which unfortunately killed 2 people and injured 2 people.
Incident Date: 07/11/2023
This is disturbing …. Why are we allowing single crew vehicles out on the roads …. The police should never be alone …. Never …. This is awful … I hope the suspect was arrested and charged…
@katemacrae Definitely storage heater bricks. I used mine in the greenhouse as a central path. They absorb and retain heat from the sun, keeping it warmer for longer😀
Much of our farm has been under water since October. The wheat we planted is now rotten, the maize from last year not silaged.
Our neighbours have given up growing barley and gone with environmental schemes.
This is why I keep asking who is going to feed Britain? Once the EU import checks dry up EU foods, where will the food come from?
Another busy day for @nottsfire who are working hard in the current flooding from Storm Henk. This video shows Highfields technical rescue crews rescuing a male who was stranded on a shed roof surround by flood water. 🚒👌🌊
Tidying the garden? Please don't cut back the ivy. Around now in the UK, it will be providing a vital late season pitstop for pollinating insects like bees, butterflies, hoverflies, moths. Then in winter, this native plant will offer berries for the birds.
So it’s come to this. Land owners paying contractors to obliterate trees, vegetation, verges & more importantly, Ivy flowers providing a vital food source for insects. No risk to public, no issue for motorists, just an obsession to “tidy” everything in sight! 😖 This HAS to Stop!
