A nurse today told me “we are the peace keepers don’t worry about it”
They really are. Everything goes through them and all the shit runs downhill to the bedside.
What would we do without them?
Always treat them well. Listen. And support. None of this works without them.
“What time does your shift end today?”
“7pm”
“When will you be home?”
“I don’t know.”
“Can we make plans for 8?”
“You can make them. No guarantee I’ll be there.”
“How come you don’t know when you’ll be done with work?”
“Because I’m a doctor I guess.”
Thanks for the awesome support of our UCD colleagues who are holding down the ICU fort while we attend ATS! @JimLavelle5@KansasKatherine @dr_abigail_lara
