@SixerMerchant My friend creates the model over the course of a few days. I create a mold based on the model which takes either 2 hours or 3 days (mostly waiting) depending on the mold method. Its then fired for 1 day and after the bronze is poured, it goes through 1 - 3 hour of clean up/polish
@madezel98 This is so insanely good. I remember seeing the WIP and being super excited for the final project. Love Tally Hall so it’s super awesome seeing it ponified.
@Lunarbula Do you have any tips for printing large statues? I plan to do something similar for Twilight, but I need to get it perfect since I plan to use the print to cast a life size bronze statue of her.
Secret Santa gift I made and totally forgot to take a good picture of. Guess it’s also a Dyxcember cast.
Anyways expect more maybe in the future if I can find it in myself to stop being lazy.
Like usual, model by my friend Hoover and casting by me
@Loafanon You think I ever wore clothes while casting molten metal in the first place? How would I build up my fire resistance if I block out all the fire?
Would anyone be interested in my posting my WIPs to see my method of casting sculptures/so theres something in between the 2 months it takes me to stop being lazy and make something? Maybe itll help me work more consistently too. Never did it since I didn’t want to flood too much
One last tweet about Rainbowshine with a 360 view of her. Sorry for not using a proper one with a stabilized tripod and that she was too heavy for my rotating base lol
@buttercupsayn The sculpture is the cast itself and yes, it’s cast out of silicon bronze. It was made by 3d printing it, smoothing it, covering it in a ceramic shell slurry, burning out the 3d print, and then pouring molten bronze into the now empty ceramic shell in the shape of the 3d print
