Hi Sara Kirk, maybe I can help you understand what she said. In the context of the conversation which is important, they were discussing the persecution and attacks that she has been dealing with.

So when she said "Satan you can take my husband and try to divide the country, but I refuse to let you take a piece of me" she is saying that she doesn't have control over the first two things but she does have control over what she allows into her own spirit, mind and body.

That is why she forgave the assassin, so she could free herself of any hate from growing in her heart which would give the enemy a foothold in her life. Doesn't mean she forgets or that the killer will not face the consequences of their actions. It's about obeying God and not allowing Satan to plant seeds in your life that he can then reap and destroy you. Hope it helps.
