I know a lot of people don’t want to hear this… but if you’re going to talk about resisting & community building…wear a mask.
For yourself, for your community, for disabled & vulnerable people.
We’re watching what’s left of public health be gutted… protect yourself.

Every superhero has an origin story. Designing a better mask due to California wildfires was ours. Today, we're supporting our community in SoCal by offering @flo_mask at cost with discount code CaliStrong30. Please help us spread the word.
@Ryan_Daigler@AntiToxicPeople Appreciate you answering. Unfortunately, a family situation, and not much opportunity for the target to leave. But they do disengage/nonrespond for the most part. Just feels like the abuser gets their way all the time then.
An informative, if troubling, thread. I know a number of people in my small circles have been diagnosed with cancer, particularly pancreatic and breast cancer, over the last 2-3 years.
We analyzed the deaths of United States Politicians during the #COVIDPandemic & found some interesting statistics.
From 2020-2024 (into November) at least 466 active (or recently active) politicians, judges, & the like passed away.

@catladyactivist@amethystarlight I was thinking this too - the bar is so low that this feels like the ‘good’ outcome. If mask bans aren’t implemented officially or unofficially everywhere, at least.
Even if you don’t wear a respirator regularly when shopping or working, please make these FIVE practices non-negotiable:
1. Public restrooms: Always wear a respirator, even if it’s empty. (Yes, even when stopping by during a dinner reservation—bring your mask!)
2. Public transportation & taxi services: Always wear a respirator. (Plan ahead and have one on hand wherever you go.)
3. Elevators: Always wear a respirator, even if you’re alone. Elevators are poorly ventilated spaces—you wouldn’t drink water someone else gargled, so why breathe their air?
4. Food markets and drugstores: Prioritize wearing a respirator in these high-traffic areas.
5. Healthcare settings! Sick people! Respiratory infections spread. Duh!
If you get sick despite masking in these crucial situations but go maskless at restaurants, bars, concerts, or shared workspaces, maybe it’s not the mask’s fault. Maybe, just maybe, it’s your choices.
@ariccio@PrognosticChats@PeteUK7 This is what hurts my head and heart too. It’s doable!! The upfront cost would have paid for itself by now (not including the innumerable deaths that could have been avoided/delayed)!
Someone covid cautious messaged me about making a a large funeral safer, and although that's incredibly hard, I thought I'd share a few tips for them, and share them here now.
By now,
you have likely heard
how that legendary singer
defended her mask wearing
by saying: “if I get sick,
my entire thing goes down,”
and though, my friend,
you may not be
a legendary singer yourself
please understand
if you get sick
your entire thing may go down too.
Wearing a mask is a choice. A choice that speaks volumes about character, integrity, and ability to sift through information. Also tells me about your priorities and your future. Or you lack of those things. When 70% of communication is non-verbal as they say, no mask says a lot.
I refuse to be a cog in a line of transmission that kills a cancer patient or a newborn baby or gives somebody else pots or ends someone's career because their body won't let them get out of bed.
We're all high risk. Wear a mask.
