Well that was fun. Went completely deaf in my left ear just before a client call. Just about managed to type with my left hand and not shout down the line. Now lying on my side hoping olive oil will magically work. #unpredictableworkmoments
@ScarredForLife2 I am sailing by Rod Stewart. Urgh, utter tripe played endlessly on Radio 1 at the time. It made me feel seasick, bringing back memories of rough channel ferry crossings to St Malo.
I had a dream that I was on my last shift at #Channel4news and Krishnan, John and Kathy dedicated half the show to an elaborate goodbye even though I worked behind the scenes. I particularly liked Lindsey Hilsum's piece for me from Florida.
Just met my first fellow copywriter in person. Yay! I started my business in lockdown so it's all been messaging and zooms till today. Thankfully, I haven't been weirdly catfished - she's both real, lovely and eats cake.
@davidhepworth As a kid I genuinely thought Mr & Mrs Blood vessel decided to name their son Buster. No-one told me you could make up your own name.
Heatwave moan alert - I have nose sweat, it's so hot my glasses keep sliding down my face. Plus, I know I'm stuck to this chair. Gotta keep on writing though (and inhaling magnum ice creams). Someone needs to bring me my next ice cream - I can't reach.
I've got my first ever real-world prospective client meeting this week. Thinking I need to dress a bit smarter than I do for zoom (especially given the bottom half will now be on view. What do copywriters wear to actual meetings?
Thanks for the clothing tips everyone. Much needed. Think a sparkly boob tube, corduroy jacket, smart trousers and a fountain pen is the outfit of choice. 👚🥼🥳
@modacitylife@DavidTheScintst I saw how effective this was in Amsterdam. Every time someone presents the 'what about people with disabilities?' argument I think about how many adapted bikes and small electric vehicles I saw using the bike lanes.
