So Ryan Reynolds is super shocked and excited after Wrexham drew Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round. And people are confused. I mean, Chelsea are a Premier League club. Wrexham might lose. So why is he so happy?
Let me explain something to you.
Four years ago, Wrexham were in the fifth tier of English football. Fifth. They were fighting relegation, debt and irrelevance. Deadpool and Rob McElhenney then bought the club, came in with the Hollywood attention, opened their wallets, and more importantly, turned on the cameras.
Now, they are on a three consecutive promotions streak andthey're in the Championship and pushing for a playoff spot to make a 4th possible promotion.
Now Chelsea will be visiting the Racecourse Ground(Wrexham's home stadium). And Wrexham's current FA Cup run has already generated somewhere between £568,000 and £608,000 for the club in prize money, broadcast fees, gate receipts from sold out home games.
That's good. But from the global attention this fixture is getting, the game alone adds another £220,000 to £300,000 if Wrexham lose. If they win? We're talking about £458,000 to £538,000 on top of what they've already earned, pushing the cumulative total past £1 million. From one cup run! For a club that was in the fifth tier four years ago.
But that's still not why Reynolds is smiling.
You would remember Leicester 2016. Their fairy tale title run raked in hundreds of millions in global brand value that no prize money table could ever capture. They got new fans, new sponsors and entered new markets. One magical season rewrote what that club meant to the world.
Wrexham's version of that could be this Chelsea tie. Every camera that walks into that the "Racecourse" ground to cover this fixture is essentially a free advertisement.
Past runs have already added an estimated £1 million to £2 million in equivalent exposure value.
This one, with Chelsea and every major broadcaster in England showing up, could drive even more. "Welcome to Wrexham"- the documentary that the club is filming will now get content no production budget could have ever bought. And Wrexham FC sponsors like United Airlines and HP get global attention.
And here's the thing. Win or lose, the story feeds itself. If they win? Unbelievable. If they lose? Reynolds films it, packages it, and 20 million people watch it on Disney+ anyway. Win-win.
So no. Ryan Reynolds is not confused about this draw. There is a reason he is happy. He understands the assignment😂.
Nestlé has recalled these baby products.
So before you mix that next bottle for your baby, read this thread carefully as it concerns their well being.
If you feed your baby NAN, SMA, or Alfamino, a toxic bacteria has been found in some batches. And you might have it in your house right now.
You see, Nestlé has issued a massive global recall for several baby formulas (products in the image above) because they found a toxin called Cereulide (from Bacillus cereus bacteria) in some batches.
This toxin causes severe nausea and vomiting in babies. And the scary part is that boiling water does NOT kill it. The toxin is heat-resistant. So even if you prepare the formula correctly, if the powder itself is contaminated, your baby is at risk.
Now, NAFDAC has not released a specific alert for Nigeria yet. BUT our markets are porous. And people import ‘UK SMA’ and ‘Imported NAN’ every single day. So if you buy your formula from supermarkets that stock imported goods, or you bought it abroad, you need to check the last stock to see if your tin look like any of those products.
If yes, go to Nestle’s UK Website (SMA & Alfamino) and Nestle’s MENA Website (NAN) to verify if your batch does not fall under the recalled ones.
If your batch code matches the ones on that list, please DO NOT USE IT.
And please, don't keep this information to yourself.
If you have a friend, sister, or neighbor who uses SMA, NAN, or Alfamino, retweet this or send this to them NOW.
You might be saving a baby from poisoning today.
SHE WAS 35, LEAN, AND "HEALTHY." TODAY, SHE’S GONE.
I am looking at the lab results of a woman who should have had 50 more years of life. Instead, I am looking at the reason her heart gave out this morning.
She was the "success" story of our generation. 35 years old, BMI of 20 (thin by any standard), working a high-paying remote job for a US-based company.
But behind the laptop screen, her body was screaming for help:
The Routine: Working through the night, sleeping through the day. A completely shattered circadian rhythm.
The Fuel: Living alone meant no home-cooked meals. She relied on food delivery apps 3x a day. Convenience was the priority.
The Silence: She felt "fine" until the sudden, crushing chest pain 12 hours ago.
Her blood was essentially turned into a thick, fatty sludge.
Triglycerides: 561.10 (Dangerous level is > 500)
Total Cholesterol: 300.50
VLDL: 112 (Over double the limit)
LDL: 143 (very high)
If you are:
❌ Living on delivery apps
❌ Flipping your sleep cycle for work
❌ Ignoring your labs because you "look fit"
Please. This is your sign. Her life ended today because her internal health didn't match her external appearance.
Your job won't miss you. Your family will.
Here's some more of my daughter's work where she used this technique, some dating back to when she was 10. I may be biased because I'm her dad, but I think she's pretty amazing.
So if you’ve followed me for years, you know my dad was in a horrific car accident a year and a half ago and almost died. And apparently he did die for 20 minutes.
He was in a coma, unconscious for weeks. My mom was there 24/7. She never left his side.
My siblings and I (and my kids) were at the hospital daily for weeks, helping however we could.
The story that we were told was that the EMTs rushed to help the passenger in the car (a close friend of my dad’s) because they had thought my dad already died.
3 EMTs said a doctor came out of the bushes, said he was an orthopedic surgeron, and started putting my dad’s ligaments (his arm was hanging) back together while the EMTs were focused on my dad’s friend. Finally one said, “he’s breathing now” and they took over.
This orthopedic surgeon left the scene and no one knew who he was.
A couple weeks back my dad went back to the site of the crash and a sheriff, who was filming the event, told him that this was a doctor that came and fixed my dad while he was unconscious but when he looked at the camera footage, there was no person there…
your partner actually liking you as a friend is important. romantic love is not enough. because romance shows you how someone feels about you, but friendship shows you how they treat you when they are not trying to impress you. loving someone is easy when everything is heightened. liking them is what makes the ordinary days bearable.
most people do not realise this, but the version of your partner you meet in friendship is the one you end up living with.
the softness, the humour, the small acts of consideration, the way they speak when nothing big is happening, that is the real relationship. romance can win you over, but friendship is what prevents both of you from becoming strangers while still sharing a life.
and the older you get, the clearer it becomes that love is not the glue. compatibility in the boring moments is. that is the part no one warns you about: the relationship lasts only if you can stand each other when nothing romantic is happening at all.
