We'll never know why, and it isn't for us to know, but the loss of Britt Baker in an AEW ring is one of the saddest things in the promotion.
I miss her.
She had such a great heel persona during AEW's formative years. She was in that lens and you could see how much she loved it.
@davemeltzerWON He has a point if its about oversaturation in general but that's 2026 for you. It applies to every single walk of life. We have too much of everything now and it's impossible to savour anything without deliberate detachment.
Ted Turner just passed away at the age of 87. He was among the most important people as far as the history of pro wrestling goes, and that was a very minor part of his world.
Val Venis is in the category of being super-memorable for his gimmick at the peak of a boom period, while also failing to wrestle one single memorable match. Also see: Tugboat, Disco Inferno, Red Rooster, Akeem, etc
@davemeltzerWON Not going to deny Val Venis his due for being a star when he wrestled. He was a big deal at a peak period albeit for a short time. But he has absolutely no credit in the bank based on his behaviour and attitude since then. We’re talking over 25 years since he was at all relevant.
@B_Primey@Fightful Can only assume they have something planned in the next few days as FITE is still airing this week’s Dynamite - it’s gonna be a shitshow if @TonyKhan allows this switch with next to no way of watching MyAEW on TV. What an absolute disaster.
I mean this is so shortsighted and bloody terrible timing with tickets on sale for All In. Triller is widely accessible everywhere as a smart app and we’ve subbed in a clunky website as the alternative. Not happy at all.
