A free passion project being developed in Unreal Engine 5 by fans of the Halo series to create a unique singleplayer/co-op story and multiplayer experience.
I'd really like to show off what we have sooner rather than later. We have so much in our backlog of assets that's just been waiting for the right moment to show off. I promise it's leaps and bounds better than what was shown off back in 2020 in Unity Engine.
Whew. Today was pretty eventful. For anyone just joining us, this is one of those threads where I just spill out my experiences developing the game. First off, one of the biggest headaches I've had to deal with in computing is compiling Unreal Engine 5.
I'd like to directly use that feedback to iterate on my design specifications so that the public beta that will eventually be available is set at a standard of quality, even if it is buggy. But, anyway, tonight in particular was a great night for making some programming progress.
There are some parts of the code that need to be rewritten before any major testing can happen, primarily the game mode and scope zoom code (which can just be ported by hand from the old Unity C# to blueprints) but overall aside from that and some bugs, it's feeling really solid
Another day, another set of hours going towards lots of polish. I'm really proud of the result and can't wait to show how the game looks & feels. By far the best that Coral has ever felt. In addition to polish, AI is underway and it's great hearing real grunts say funny lines.
