Today my wife and I had an earthly “see you later” to a phenomenal man. Glen Owens was a trusted leader of Florida Baptists, a gifted preacher of God’s Word, our beloved senior adult pastor at North Jax, but to me he was my good friend.
Today is work day 9101 for me at NJBC-May 14, 1990 I walked into the church office for the first time as their 1st church administrator. So blessed that God has allowed me to do this for 35 years. There’s still much to do and I’m looking forward to many more years of serving Him!
Blessed to be able to share halftime devotions on opening day of our North Jax Upward soccer season. Added bonus of getting to see Pearson play and Evie play her first season! #lovemygrandkids
It’s National Go Red for Women’s Day. Out walking this morning in honor of my wife - a 3 time SCAD survivor! Thankful for the wisdom of her cardiologist @EstherSHKimMD who helped us understand the disease and how to manage it! @GoRedForWomen@SCADalliance
It was a great first day of the Upward Football season at North Jax Baptist today! Pearson plays for the Lions and scored a TD and the bonus was a walk around the property with my sweet Evie Rose! #grandkidsarethebest#lovemychurch
When your son who serves as a small group leader and on a church committee gives you the privilege of baptizing him because he knew his baptism wasn’t on the “right side” of his salvation it is a proud ministry moment but an even prouder dad moment! #obediencematters
What a blessing to be able to share devotions this morning @north_jax at our Upward Soccer games! Especially proud of one of our grandsons, Pearson who turned 8 today and was the flag holder for the National Anthem 🇺🇸 #lovemychurch
Today was a special day @north_jax as we celebrated Debbie Nygren’s retirement from our staff. She has served faithfully for 15+ years and always with a smile on her face! Steve Gustin and I will miss her servant spirit and the excellence with which she always did her job.
Just want to give a shout out to our @north_jax facilities and food services team who had to quickly pivot and worked all day to make our North Jax Family Christmas happen tonight indoors when the storms came. I appreciate each of them and the ones that were off duty tonight!
Yesterday it was my honor to lead a memorial service and then this morning help lay to rest a man I consider an American hero … he was a beloved husband, dad and grandpa and a part of our extended family. As the Navy says, “Fair winds and following seas, Sir. We have the watch”
