The character is made up of two parts: the roof-like radical "宀," which represents a house, and the lower part, "女," which shows a woman kneeling with her hands gently folded 🧘‍♀️
Together, they express the idea of a woman resting peacefully inside a house. That image gave rise to the meaning "peaceful" or "to feel at ease" ☺️

女 = woman
安 = "peaceful" or "to feel at ease" (and cheap)
