F1 strategist @ruthbuscombe pointed out in the post race show that Russell’s on track win came about as a result of incredible tyre wear, his deg sitting at 0.05 per lap compared to 0.1 for his rivals.

There’s an accepted average in F1 that 10kg equals approx 0.3 of lap time. That means the 1.5kg that Russell was under weight would represent 0.045, almost exactly his positive delta.

This may only be a coincidence as non drs fuel usage, 34 lap wear and no post race pickup all likely mitigating factors in his being underweight.

But interesting nevertheless I thought.
