I think their style of warfare was always based on the idea that life was dirt cheap and to be spent as their rulers saw fit, just based off of what we see in TDK though. Specifically the lesson Olytx gets from Djoseras.

@BitsHammer @soupfriend1 I think Olytx’s terrible choices are great for the story and no problem pacing-wise!

No issue with the overarching plot at all; I just feel like the one book-turned-two shows in some places where scenes seem like they were padded out in order to make that happen.

@soupfriend1 @BitsHammer Ruin/Reign are a bit harder to get into b/c Oltyx is incredibly unlikable at times (in a way that makes for great character! But not always an enjoyable POV), and there are some points where the pacing struggles, but I’d consider them a must-read for current ‘crons as far as lore

@soupfriend1 @BitsHammer Severed in particular makes for a fast read, is very well paced, and imho does a great job of nailing the tone of underlying loss and despair for what the necrons have become while still having a lot of fun with the characters.

(What makes SMs compelling is their role in the grand scheme of things, not gender. Imagine if Bloodborne had said ‘boys only’ Hunters for just as little reason).
