Today, we said goodbye to retired ACFO Dominic Brown, who passed away on Thurs 24th June. Dominic was given a full fire service funeral & was described as an outstanding officer whose commitment, bravery & humour touched everyone he met. Our thoughts remain with family & friends.

Dominic’s funeral will be held on Mon 5th July at 10:30am at Wear Valley Crematorium. @CDDFRS are holding a full Fire Service Funeral. Everyone wanting to pay their respects can attend outside the Crem & watch via live link. Please arrive early to allow for setting up.♥️

Today, we paid our respects to His Royal Highness, #PrincePhilip #TheDukeofEdinburgh with a short ceremony at our Headquarters followed by a minute's silence to honour his memory.
Our thoughts are with Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family at this time.

Horse rescue? Neigh bother!🐴On Monday crews from Darlington & Bishop Auckland came to the aid of a horse which had become stuck in the mud in a field in Gainford. 👩‍🚒Together with the farm staff & vet they were able to get the horse back on it's hooves! #TeamWorkMakesTheDreamWork

On Saturday wreaths were laid in front of the memorial plaque at Peterlee Fire Station, to honour the memory of Firefighters John Donley and Tony Hall who died while on duty, 38 years ago.
