Quick advice for newer NFT artists- in particular digital artists who started in the last couple years and have only experienced the amazing growth in the web3 space. It’s getting weird around here and I can see how it may feel like your world is ending. I think it’s just the highs and lows of something new developing. Web3 is still new and chaotic. I want younger artists to know successful art careers are built on many years (and eventually decades) of hard work and sacrifice. Long careers are also built on two things- having a unique vision and having business savvy.

Up or down doesn’t matter so much. I think web3 will stay chaotic and unpredictable for the near future, so:
• Hone your artistic skills, expand your business knowledge.
• Hang out and communicate with your artistic peers. Give and receive. Share info. Help your friends.
• Expand your work out of the web3 environment (never limit where your art exists and is seen).
• If you are a digital artist, there are MANY realms to take your work into. NFTs are valid, but there’s more!
• Get a 9-5 to pay bills if you have to, but most important is to keep creating.
• There’s easy and rough patches. It is all cyclical. Even the best careers have their good and bad years.
• Get good at saving. Saving income after a successful year can get you through a bad one.
• If you are making art JUST for the money, maybe go do something else.
