Specialty: Microfluidics, vaginal microbiome, infectious disease
Degrees: Chemical Engineering, BS, MS & PhD
Fun Fact: Named after Corine by George Duke
I am Corine. I studied chemical engineering at Howard U and the U of Michigan. My PhD used microfluidics to study vaginal bacteria. At Carnegie Mellon, I use microfluidics to study mechanisms of disease in the upper respiratory tract. I use technology to advance human health.
Group at Northwestern (and collaborators) find way to degrade PFCAs. Method may be applied to PFAS, "the forever chemicals". chttps://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abm8868
My talk and poster went great at the Gordon seminar & conference for Streptococcal Biology with PI @LuHiller and labmate @KMuellerbrown. I've met amazing people with awesome research. Looking forward to keeping in touch! @BWFUND awardees #StrepYourGameUp#GRCStrepBio22
If you wanna learn more about the Freeman Hrabowski Scholars program, check out the @HHMINEWS sessions on 6/14 and 6/22 ..AND.. If you want to learn more about the 🐐 Freeman, grab your favorite cocktail/mocktail and join me+friends for virtual happy-like hour on 6/16 6-730PM🙌🏾
Just gave a presentation on microfluidics & pneumococcal biology at the Europneumo conference in Liverpool, England! Can't wait for the next one! #europneumo2022
@LuHiller and I had the pleasure of meeting with Prof Connie Chang who presented work @thechanglab on microfluidics and the H1N1 flu virus for the graduate seminar @ChemePitt. What an amazing opportunity. Thanks @TNiepa for making this happen!
Thank you @TNiepa & Niepa lab for hosting me @ChemePitt@PittEngineering! Enjoyed mentoring lunch with Graduate Women Engineering Network coordinated by @fullerton_lab. Was also great to see @10queues and a very neon @PittCVR. Great science going on @PittTweet! #virus#biofilm
