Solana Took the Lead in Stablecoin Volume for the First Time

Ethereum dominated stablecoin settlement for years. In February 2026, Solana moved ahead of it for the first time, capturing 36% of total stablecoin volume.

✅ Solana processed $650 billion in stablecoin transactions in February, more than double the prior monthly record and the highest stablecoin volume recorded on any blockchain during the month.

✅ The stablecoin market cap has now exceeded $320B, driven by increasing use in payments and cross-border transfers as stablecoins gradually replace traditional financial systems.

✅ In recent months, stablecoin usage has also been shifting from $USDT toward $USDC, with USDC accounting for ~72% of total volume in February.
