my Regent sculpt is so pretttyyyy!!!! ;8;
doing a lot of voice overs made me realised how untrained i’m in everything except 3D sculpting. as always _(:,3_/ and it’s frustrating when learning progress is slow, but i’m doing my best to progressive overload my voice over time .8.
cutest stars :3 ⭐️⭐️ just finished all the footage edit & song selections for my STS2 video, i’m just left with the voice over recordings…that i’ve been procrastinating /.8./ i’ll do my best with the difficult things! in the meantime, be bathed in this cute light ⭐️⭐️
jewels in the cosmos ✨ i’m having so much fun creating all these new effects with unlit material + paint. the glassy watercolor paint effect is SO PRETTY i’m so proud of myself :> it feels like i’ve unlocked a whole new set of sculpting skills with this STS2 sculpt series.
Silent’s poison dagger build sculpted! inspired by some of my favourite runs with Envenom and tonssssss of shivs (but daggers look better for the sculpt haha).
i’m getting more comfortable with mixing opaque & unlit materials. the STS2 sculpts are coming together nicely :3
drawing on my digital sketchbook as i work on a new batch of footage. there’s so much work to do, and i still need to record more Regent & Silent sculpts :,D but i’m making good progress!
my favourite sculpt for my STS2 sculpt series by far. and i figured out that i could deactivate “Two sided” to set my Additive material right (instead of duplicating the object and setting one to opaque…) >:D always learning something new to improve my workflow!
the mental gymnastics i have to do to make small amounts of progress is insane >:,D but progress is progressing. i love that i can make use of my doodles for the current video edit! it’s looking so cute, i’ll keep pushing forward so that i can share all the cuteness one day.
making progress 🔮⚡️💫 it’s so fun to bring my gameplay experiences into my 3D sculpting canvas! i’m happy with how the orbs, lightning and flames look with additive material. and as always i’m grateful that i can make all these on my ipad :3
doodles from video editing breaks (e8e(-8-) i had plans to sculpt too, but it was thrown out of the window bc climbing was so fun and i’m smashed from over-exercising. but i can feel my strength improving so hopefully i can sculpt hard and climb hard at the same time, in time :>
pup paint is done! bday week is always a time for me to think about what is important in my life, and that is creating things :3 including delicious food and cakes >:3 having good meals is as important as making good art :D <3
there are a couple of changes i’m making in my life - one of them is posting weekly instead of daily, to put more focus on making videos. sculpted a moth themed design to represent the change, inspired by one of my favourite Dark Souls boss (and Dorohedoro’s S2 moth guy :3)
sculpting Regent taught me how useful it is to block out tubular structures with tubes. it seems obvious to me now, but up till a day ago, i assumed that it would make my sculpts inorganic or difficult. but now i know that sculpting on tubes is pretty straightforward and fun! :D
the cookie is baked! :3
Defect’s geometry is pretty flat, so i added variations and plane changes with different paint colours. the colours are inspired by his cards, like magenta for shadows and ice blue for highlights!
i’m quite proud of this one :3
using tubes as my base worked out way better than i expected. i assumed that they might be difficult to handle once i validate and sculpt on them individually. but it was easy to work on this sculpt when every ridge is its own object.
i would say tho, as much as i love the straightforward nature of physical training - being able to do 10 pull ups directly means my upper back is stronger - i also love how my subjective choices in colors and paint strokes made this paintover truly mine :) it’s a special feeling.
it’s easy for me to feel demoralised with slow art progress bc i have no idea where’s the finish line. that’s why i love exercise so much, since physical progress is non-subjective. i finally achieved 10 consecutive pull ups, n i use that motivation boost to paint more >:D
what i predicted would be difficult for the fire was creating three layers of intersecting objects in 3D space, but it worked pretty well as long as there’s some volume to them. the biggest object is set to Additive mode so that it glows when there’s Post Process Bloom.
finding my courage to start video editing again ;8; my intrusive thoughts interfere so much with my work, and i’m proud of working hard on overcoming my weaknesses as always!
anyway, watching this fire blob creation feels so satisfying :3 (done with DynTopo + Smooth Tool)
Necrobinder!! ヤヤアーー
i finished writing my script before sculpting the STS2 characters, and i wrote that the skull would be easy, and flames would be difficult to sculpt. it was the exact opposite .8. idkw i just can’t get her face proportions right, but i’ll fix it later.
