So if the lean beef that we’re importing can only be replaced domestically with cull cows then we should have lowered imports and increased cow slaughter earlier?
What held us back from sustainable herd growth was a lack of packing plant expansion coming out of 2014
They gotta shove as much of their corrupt shit into the market while they can.
They’ve been doing this for years
Cattle would’ve been high enough to sustain a good American herd if this shit wouldn’t have take place to begin with.
Thanks NCBA and our corrupt fucking government
NEWS: Screwworm has been detected in Texas, USDA confirmed - marking a serious threat to US cattle and other animals
Larvae of the parasite were found in the umbilical cord of a 3 week old calf
Screwworm was eradicated from the US in 1966
@GarthGatson The market shock of the Tyson-Holcomb fire, the helplessness of Covid fat cattle buyer quotas and then the soon disbelief of fat cattle charity bids…and of course the devastation of 2021/2022 droughts that were the final supply liquidator
This is not true. We have no confirmed case within 1 mile of the border.
As we have done for the last 15 months, we will continue to share all information. If a case in proximity is confirmed, we are ready.
@leereichmuth@Backward8ed But are they willing to ever carry the cattle if they don’t get bid what they want?
If no, then is it really a negotiation? 🤔

@morrisonmkts If the Big Four meatpackers would have tried doing any capacity expansion at all in the 5 straight years of record margins post-2015 we would have never saw the overall herd liquidation that we did - they chose to maximize margin vs market share
@GGaydusek20450@CBKimbrell@kansasangus Are you guys at all concerned that the most anti-competitive packer over the last 20 years (by closing plants and not supporting neg. trade) has been AMERICAN owned Tyson - the foreign owned packers have been the only major packers to increase U.S. packing capacity. 🤷🏻♂️
@LOU___SKUNT@TheStalwart@GrainStats Depends how much premium the U.S. consumer is willing to pay for a product that has the USDA stamp on it on grain fed product - we haven’t been able to and will never be able to compete on lean beef vs imported product
@JusDayDa@TheStalwart@GrainStats Again, do you have an actual data source on this?
I haven’t seen any supply drop in beef/dairy cross calf supplies to match what you’re saying
@JusDayDa@TheStalwart@GrainStats What data source are you using for that self-abortion claim?
And if that was the case the cow was able to be able to be bred again the following cycle after self-aborting
Also, do you realize how small of % of the total beef supply comes from dairy/beef calves from Cali?

@JusDayDa@TheStalwart@GrainStats I’m a cattle industry expert and you have no idea what you are talking about - there has been no mass die off of cattle from avian flu. It has only affected dairy production of infected milk cows
(1/4) A report from a state official in Mexico today incorrectly claimed that @USDA has set a date to resume livestock imports from Mexico.
This is NOT accurate.
USDA has not set a date for resuming livestock imports.
@MichaelSch46619@KINGS1973 I’m hearing they’ll be killing Saturday this week at all their other major plants…so that looks like exactly what they plan to do
@s_deciple You do realize Mid Con doesn’t report to NC MRS…not sure how Jeff is suppose know what they did
Besides they did $370 plus kickers - it didn’t even show up on the USDA LMR report 🤷🏻♂️
