One of my favourite scoops is off to the USA. Hand carved from local alder and featuring a ruby red vintage Lucite cabochon, the scoop was steeped in cider vinegar and baked to darken the timber and contrast the cabochon's colour.

The recycled oak from which I carved my latest garden seed planter was rescued from an old Cornish cottage kitchen.
The dibber is hand carved to follow the natural grain of the wood and I've added a piece of Baltic amber, approx 44 million years old (during the Eocene epoch).
