The Peacock’s are hanging up their aprons but please keep a look out for The Bakewell in Askrigg who’ll be opening a little sister in Bainbridge in April.
After many years of running a tearoom in Bainbridge the Peacock family have decided to hang up their aprons. The decision wasn’t taken lightly but exciting times are ahead for all involved.
To all our customers, staff and suppliers who have supported us over the years we’d like to say a massive thank you and we know you’ll definitely not be disappointed when you visit Bainbridge again.

We ventured a little further today with a pack lunch from The Corn Mill Tearoom. Lovely to sit up on the hill side admiring the views and the path we’d taken.

8.5 miles circular walk to Semerwater then round the lake passing the old ruins of Stalling Busk church across to Marsett an UP the hill over the other side to meet the Roman road and back to Bainbridge.

WHITEFIELD FORCE - a 3.5mile round trip from Bainbridge but could quite easily be extended
The woods are so green and the wild garlic smells amazing.
Lots of clambering up to the falls, it’s a real hidden gem.

Cross the river Ure via the stepping stones up the pasture passing Catriggs Farm, crossing the A684 up to Burtersett. Go up through the village and meet the Roman road. Head down and back to Bainbridge.

Walks in Wensleydale
Circular walk approx 6.75 miles starting in Bainbridge. Head out of the village via road towards the river Ure, walk west along the disused railway line, passing Camms house right to the end of the lane.
From Monday 17th May our opening hours will be 9.30am till 4.30pm, 7 days a week.

Wednesday Walks in Wensleydale
Approx 4.5 miles circular starting in Bainbridge. Head up to the scar, drop down to Brush House, and down to the river Ure crossing the stepping stones.
Down Low Straights which is a rough track, and up to Heugh Lane. Some great views can be seen up here. Walk right along the track and down to Nappa, through Nappa Hall, up into Askrigg and then along the old railway line back to Bainbridge.

Wednesday Walks in Wensleydale
Approx 7.5 miles circular walk starting in Bainbridge. Head up to Whitfield Gill via the fields and country Lane, through the woods over the beck and up the other side. You’ll come to a clearing with benches a lovely rest place.
