being young and black on the net around 2013-2017 meant lying about your race at some point + letting white peers make racist jokes around you and thinking it's okay cause you never really understood the gravity of the internet making minorities into laughing stock..

i think we (black people) should be able to talk about the self-esteem issues that comes along with growing up in an anti-black world. denying that is denying a very real reality that anti-blackness does mess with many black people’s self-image.

I used to let my white peers say the n word/hard r around me and I'd have people comparing me struggling black women on the net. One girl even drew blackface of me. That was the last time I let somebody nonblk say anything racist towards me. I was like 7-12 during this time
