Correctional Management - commenting on security & containment, duty of care, reoffending, rehabilitation & supporting reintegration. Public not Private Prisons.
@2GB873, @POVBNSW, @DavidElliottMP, @GuyZangariMP,@psansw, I just heard Minister Elliott on 2GB saying he was shocked about hearing on industrial action & his door is always open, he told the PSA in March 2018 that he would not cease Benchmarking reforms ?, selective memory loss!
@CorrectionsPA Although this may seem as menial work, it is more about building work ethics, learning work skills & operating in an industrial environment. There are many of these similar types of textile/tailor business units within the prison system. Important to look at the overall positives
@MaccaPolitical @NSWJustice @LaurenTomasi@BOCSAR@nswpolice@GeoffLeeMP@MarkSpeakman Unfortunately they have lost the locker room, removal of experienced front line staff, deletion of an entire rank, less resources, less supervision and guidance for junior staff. This is the end result of cost cutting the corrections portfolio in NSW.
@ChrisMinnsMP Chris, please have your shadow minister for corrections, (CSNSW) commence to start challenging this state governments decision to privatise both Parklea and Clarence Correctional Centres. They are both in turmoil, privatisation is not only about tolls, electricity and ports !
Stable accommodation is key to reducing reoffending. That’s why the Community Accommodation Service Tier 3 provides temporary accommodation for prison leavers at risk of homelessness.
Probation Officer Lindsay explains how CAS3 supports safe reintegration into society ⬇️
Thanks to @GA_Corrections dedicated staff at Johnson SP, 9 offenders received their GEDs, while 83 offenders graduated with certificates in Computer Technology, Customer Service and Hospitality thanks to a partnership with @CGTC. #Reentry@ACAinfo@CLALeadership
@ButtigiegMark Submissions closed on 28/2/22 into the Dept of Planning’s ‘Planning Refirms’, hopefully RE agents & developers are prohibited to have any involvement in DA and rezoning decision’s , conflict of interest all day long.
@ShoebridgeMLC Watched it with intrigue, was gobsmacked at the responses by the Commissioner & his assistants, no wonder the corrections portfolio has fallen so far & failing. They talk about meeting KPI’s, yet they allow the private operators to continue after failure upon failure. @POVBNSW
@ShoebridgeMLC No surprise David, just need to look at the Transport Ministers track record, completely decimated Corrective Services NSW, @nswpolice dodged a bullet with him being moved on, my sincere condolences to the workers at @TransportforNSW
