@kaigirl814@Jdcummings8@emilykmay Some of it is hers, sure. Out of her 300 or so songs, depending on how you count them, only 60ish are written entirely by her. That means most of them have co-writers. Swifties are so fucking weird man.
@kaigirl814@Jdcummings8@emilykmay I’m not accusing her of it, it’s not disputable that most of her songs have co-writers and beyond just the writers the hundreds of other workers that are also involved in creating the whole swift product. Or tens of thousands of workers honestly, she does use fast fashion.
@kaigirl814@Jdcummings8@emilykmay How’s it any different than Costco paying slightly better than Walmart, like wow she barely did anything there, the bar was already still low and the ratio she keeps for herself is still wild.
@kaigirl814@Jdcummings8@emilykmay Those are just larger crumbs than the crumbs her peers give. Larger crumbs are still crumbs. She’s still very much hoarding. There’s no such thing as an ethical billionaire.
@kaigirl814@Jdcummings8@emilykmay How is that different than your standard CEO using the “we’re a family here” tactic while hoarding most of the spoils for herself
@underthepink7@emilykmay@Jdcummings8 How is she not just CEO of Swift, inc.
How is it any different than any other hierarchal corporate structure. Because it’s a girlboss one?
@Becky_Clough@emilykmay@Jdcummings8 Other artists don’t have anywhere near the cult-like following she does. Sure she treats the workers slightly better than her peers, that’s not saying much.
She’s in the position to force the entire industry to change and she doesn’t really.
@underthepink7@emilykmay@Jdcummings8 Just because she gives a few more crumbs to those workers than most artists we should praise her? Bigger crumbs are still crumbs.
@underthepink7@emilykmay@Jdcummings8 “Anti-capitalist” but incredibly pro-hierarchical structure in the music business where she’s like the CEO of a company and gets most of the credit for a product where the workers are doing most of the work. How is it any different than your standard capitalist business structure
@Becky_Clough@emilykmay@Jdcummings8 It’s not the talent of one person though. Hundreds of people are involved and not just writers. It’s a collaborative product that she gets to take by far most of the reward for.
@emilykmay@Jdcummings8 She gets most of the attention kind of like the way CEO of a company does, and that’s not a compliment.
Hundreds of people are creating that product and they all matter as much as her.
@emilykmay@Jdcummings8 Yeah she did. Which is about a quarter of her songs. You seem determined to discount the work of the co-writers with this pretend idea that she does it mostly on her own. The writers, producers, audio engineers, dancers, set-builders, etc… are just as important as she is.
@emilykmay@Jdcummings8 She could write a single line in a song mostly written by her co-writers and call herself a writer on that song. Why do swifties have so little respect for co-writers.
@emilykmay@Jdcummings8 She does have dozens of songs entirely written by her. Which is not most of her hundreds of songs. The co-writers are much more talented lyricists
Again, this is fine
She’s much better at performing than writing. Most writers aren’t good performers either. Nothing wrong with it
@noisycontrarian@U_arctos The urban core of Scottsdale (which is urban, whether you consider it that or not) is decent. Most of Scottsdale is suburban hellscape though, with a lot of things that shouldn’t exist in a desert like pools and manicured golf courses.
