@DavidWCochrane Not even in the wildest of dreams can any party here comprehend that type of money. The CPC/LPC/NDP *combined* have fundraised $697m in total since reporting began in 2005. In one swoop, this donation is more than double what 17 years of federal fundraising in Canada produced.

Kevin O’Leary skipped a 2016 debate & it cost his campaign $10k. LEOC then increased the penalty the next leadership race. Now with two candidates bowing out & taking a $50k fine each, a future LEOC will have to determine whether candidates & campaigns see value in these at all
