Father of two lovely boys, ex soldier and helicopter pilot, becoming old far too quickly. Love all things rugby. Trying to keep fit! All opinions are my own.
@Posted_to_BAOR Four table tops ruined, a sofa torn, half a dozen lampshades crushed, two chairs with broken legs and a mountain bike wheel buckled. All in one move back from BAOR!! Best bit, I had to claim on my insurance and pay the penalty for 5 years. Good ol' Whites!!
@Mr_Husky1 If the kerb is dropped for access then it is illegal (unless you are the homeowner) to park in front as, apparently, it is a parking contravention under the Traffic Management Act 2004, potentially resulting in a fine or towing.
Go back brief the selfish oaf!
@Sargon_of_Akkad@Keir_Starmer The best true comparison of renewables against nuclear - an excellent watch. It shows how far off track @Keir_Starmer really is.

@bbcnickrobinson And hang their heads in shame and embarrassment. I hope they are intelligent enough to learn, and they never have to go through the same.
@MartinSLewis Hi @MartinSLewis I received a letter that is titled Request for Information, with most of my NI number quoted, but then asking for it(my NI number) and telling me what one looks like! Is this the letter, or have I got a scam? Thanks
An excellent article. Many businesses talk about Servant Leadership but miss the nuance indicated here that there has to be a balance between the two, with the direction coming from Servant Leadership and the actual delivery being steered through Command/Leadership
What’s your leadership approach?
The British Army’s ‘Servant’ Leadership philosophy turns the idea of a traditional hierarchical command & management approach on its head.
While, in the military, both are correct of course - it’s why the Army’s leadership catchphrase of ‘Serve to Lead’ is so paradoxical.
Yet it’s ultimately a balancing act between the distinct but complementary requirements of Command, Leadership and Management, and needing to adjust one’s approach according to changing demands of the environment or context.
This usually occurs as the focus between achieving the task (Command & Management) and supporting the needs of individuals and the team (Leadership) ebbs and flows.
In the highest performing teams, both need to occur in unison, of course. Yet effective leadership can take a lifetime to master, and is arguably a journey without end……
