Soft, squishy material could make your little one too hot or it could cover a baby’s mouth and nose if they’re pressed against it. That’s why we advise against using pods and nests (softer/cushioned type of sleep surface that are sometimes used alone or as well as a mattress).
Babies lose heat through their heads, so it's important to remove hats or hoods when indoors or in the car so your baby doesn't get too hot.
