about a decade late to the game, but just getting on twitter to talk about astronomy, science communication and inevitably at some point animal crossing
I'm giving a talk tomorrow "Aliens, Galaxies and the Big Bang: Introducing the James Webb Space Telescope" as part of the University of Birmingham's Astronomy in the City event! Free for all ages with a live Q&A afterwards โจ๐ญ

This latest catalog includes 35 new events detected in the second half of @LIGO โs third observing run, 32 of which are likely to be binary black hole mergers, and two neutron star-black hole #NSBH mergers. This brings the total number of detections to 90!
Natalie says, โAfter watching the very first gravitational wave detection as a first year undergraduate, having the opportunity to contribute to the O3b catalogue in the first year of my PhD feels like a true full circle moment.โ
"By studying these mergers and hearing the final cries of a NS before it plunges into a BH, we can start piecing together theoretical predictions with real observations" @cosmic_bae_ a PhD student studying how novel effects in NS mergers will be observable in next-gen detectors!
Today @LIGO@ego_virgo & @KAGRA_PR have exciting news: the first ever confirmed detections of a #NeutronStar#BlackHole binary merger. Find out more at https://t.co/RKdgwo92IK and read our discovery paper, published today in ApJ letters https://t.co/GlcmP5syJ4
We have discovered many black holes, but what do you call a collection of black holes? @NYTScience reports on the quest to find a #BlackHolesCollectiveNoun https://t.co/FxTaJC6Vp1
Our first @LIGO@ego_virgo#GravitationalWaves detection #GW150914 was from the merger of two #BlackHoles more than a billion light years away, "shaking" spacetime by less than a million millionth the width of a hair. Find out lots more about #GW150914 at https://t.co/eyls4ciA0i
Remember @DragScience has a show coming up next month! Donโt leave it too late to get your tickets, our lineup is shaping up to be spectacular! Don your party outfit and come celebrate a mix of drag, cabaret, comedy and science!

After spending all weekend doing a puzzle over the coffee table I have a very sore back. So if I needed a sign I'm gerting old here it is. Worth it though.
Natalie from @GSCPlanetarium at Glasgow Science Centre will be sharing three amazing facts about the ringed planet in today's #GSCAtHome ๐ช
Perfect for budding astronomers of all ages! ๐ญ
