Social media is, and remains, an absolute mind killer. One of the best things I've done is set up a https://t.co/HLHBFjeRpk on a #raspberrypi to filter adverts and also block all major social media sites. Nothing lost, concentration regained. Get off this junk.

A simple queue on @Microsoft & @SonyStore stores for "buy now, receive when shipment arrives" would do so much to change the balance in the favour of actual customers. Enter account details at purchase; one console per account or shipping address. Are you listening, MS/Sony?

If #ecommerce retailers can't defeat the #scalpers , @Xbox and @PlayStation should sell consoles direct to consumers, pre-configured for the customer's account. Give up on retail channel for now. Most would happily queue to purchase rather than battle bots.

#ecommerce have no incentive to beat bots; they profit either way. MS & Sony need consoles in the hands of actual players who will use them and buy games. Without leverage against ecommerce (threat to go direct in a competent way) scalping won't stop.

Asking for permission to push notifications to a user's #browser on their first visit to the site is a complete #ux #antipattern. Stop it! If they return several times, that's when you should offer them increased #engagement, e.g. push notifications, e-mail newsletter, etc.

Broken windows theory might not be true about actual crime in the real world, but it's definitely true about bad #UI design! As soon as you tolerate an ugly loading indicator here, a broken error message there, your UX goes out the window. Tolerate humans; don't tolerate poor #UX

#JSON is a horrible #config file language. The lack of comments does not play nicely with human readability. #YAML has far too much syntax for semi-technical users to feel confident writing it. I feel dirty advocating for .properties files but dammit they actually solve a problem
