There is an aspect of Iranian culture of trying to maintain dignity in challenging situations. We place value on honour, prestige, respect and dignity - as encapsulated in the Persian word “Izzat” - to present ourselves favourably despite adversity.

Then there is the regime desperately trying to ‘style it out’ with bluster and lies, in the vague hope that those who lack fundamental intelligence will buy it.

The only test to the regime’s determination is the extent to which they’re willing to continue to sacrifice the lives of their own citizens in order to maintain their death grip on Iran.

Safe to say they’ve been passing that particular test with flying colours last 47 years.
