¡Nuevamente seremos testigos de un fenómeno astronómico! 🤩
On this day in 1971, the first clinical CT scan was done on a prototype scanner at Atkinson Morley Hospital in London. Sir Godfrey Hounsfield and Dr. Allan M. Cormack co-invented the scanner to collect cross-sectional images of a patient, though the work was a culmination of many peoples' genius and dedication to radiology. Hounsfield and Cormack would both later win the Nobel Prize for their work.
Happy 54th birthday to CT 🎉
And a big thank-you to everyone who makes computed tomography as great as it is.

People don’t realize how safe and effective acetaminophen is for pain and fever. By scaring people away from Tylenol, fevers will either go untreated (dangerous, especially for young children and fetuses) or NSAIDs will take its place, which carry much more significant side effects, like stomach ulcers or kidney injury. It’s not hyperbole to say the president yelling at people not to take this medication will lead to deaths.
Happy International Day of Radiology! 🙌 🎉
Thank you to all radiologists, radiographers, radiological technologists, professionals in related fields and patient groups for your essential role in the patient journey & seismic impact on the advancement of medicine. #IDoR2024
