I don’t do last minute fomo.
I don’t speculate.
I make asymmetrical bets when I invest.
That’s why it’s hard for me to play the lottery but easy for me to invest in building it.
See this I agree with.
I’ve seen it personally in my own town.
But everyone town meeting teachers are advocating for higher pay.
And fighting like hell if they don’t get it.
Then on top of that there’s line items for the school and always a reason to increase it.
I don’t even have children in this school district.
They will be homeschooled.
Is there a world where people who don’t have kids in the school system don’t have to pay for the school system?
Is there a world where a statewide law can stop budgets increasing?
Idk you that well but my comments were simply because of all the “hoopla” I see out of people’s mouths about issues.
I am NOT saying you’re speaking hoopla.
I just like many others am fed up with primary problems not being cared for in general.
I watched my grandmother who was retired stress about property tax every quarter.
I watched my godmother start crying one night because of it increasing and her not knowing what she was going to do.
I helped them both pay it.
People who built their entire lives here and no longer had kids in the school system and highly disagreed with it.
Something needs to happen that’s all.
So what’s the solution? If you know that’s not the solution what is?
And why aren’t you talking about the problem?
(If you have and I haven’t seen that’s my fault and I take back my statement as im reasonable)
But everyone says “the solution to ending property tax or solving property tax isn’t adding sales tax”
Yet they can’t come up with another solution other than “we need a tax”
So I’m always open ears for someone who actually has an idea about tackling the matter!
Property tax is destroying old people who own there homes and can only control consumption.
Good people everyday are getting priced out of there homes because they aren’t able to work, on fixed income and are losing the legacy they built.
I’ve first hand seen this.
This is the primary problem that needs addressing not just the fact that some people are concerned about spending an extra couple $$ when purchasing a new TV.
Yes no sales tax is an incentive to buy in NH. I live here, I own property here, I make money here.
But day in and day out I talk to average everyday people, not rich folks, not politicians, not people who “own second homes here” but people who live here and make a living here.
Property Tax is a big issue.
@denk_tweets@beehiiv Would love to be able to create posts from a beehive app.
Still the only thing I like Substack over yall for.
Great for those of us on the go.
I personally broke my neck and was nearly paralyzed 3 years ago so sitting at a desk to write out emails for any length of time sucks.
This whole reselling lifestyle while investing in collectibles has me out here hunting vintage watch IP’s on eBay, sending offers and knowing what I’m going to sell it for and who I’m going to sell it to before they’re accepted.
I keep running into this situation where I find buyers of items before they’re items and do reverse sourcing.
It’s funny when almost anyone can access eBay and other sites themselves but these guys simply just want it done for them.
I get it though.
In theory I am more than capable of putting up a deck to the back of my house but I rather hire a contractor to do it so I dont get it wrong and waste time.
Same thing different industry.
New Income stream loading..
I make a good living as a landlord, farming and reselling.
But I also wanted something to myself that’s scalable without manpower and ever accessible.
So I’m sitting here on a Sunday watching a YouTube video @JMatthewMcGarry posted with @denk_tweets about newsletters.
I’m not quite sure what I’m getting into but I have a brand name, a direction and idea that I’m ever passionate about.
If you know some killer newsletters peeps that are willing to hop on a strategy call, paid or not, to help flesh out a newsletter idea, I’m down.
Last night I purchased a sealed PSA 9.4 graded game, 1st edition that I will hold onto for roughly the next decade.
You have two choices when buying collectibles:
Time the current market or invest in the future one.
Timing = last minute decisions based on market trends and sales data to try to get ahead of the markets next move.
Investing= Means slow, steady purchases on IP’s that have all the right data points to POP but were nowhere near the cycle of when they would.
I’m going to have to leave my children a detailed guide on what to do with all the sealed manga, video games, and trading cards in my house when I die 😂.
Agreed. The damage will be huge though. I was there before the agency boom actually working at a company as a digital marketer and started my first business during it and can first hand describe the b.s I had to deal with as I got clients because of “marketers” who learned it from some guru course instead of trial and error in the trenches.
Now I see everyone promoting to build an AI consultancy.
