@ThomasHochman Question: Utilities have said they will not pay for the construction reactors, but would buy at COD. So, why would a utility take on debt to buy equipment for a facility they don't own and are not funding? Seems DOE is targeting the wrong folks as purchasers.
@CodyC64@TexasTechFB@TexasTech Having a 'bona fide" issue isn't a get out of jail free card. I hope the kid gets help, but no matter why he violated the rules, he violated the rules. TTech trying to take the moral high ground is absurd - this was about winning and winning only. A backup would have been cut.
@shipwreckedcrew It is by design. They dont care because the right people win. Winning is the point - process, rules, fairness just get in the way. No reasonable person looks at California elections as legit. Junior High student body elections are more legitimate.
@ShanuMathew93 No problem, but its a good discussion. The study is interesting if you want to see how LCOE compares to overall system costs and price to rate payers.
@ShanuMathew93 when systems costs are accounted for (grid upgrades, batter storage etc) either are renewables. What is your price baseline? zero? There is a cost to clean baseload - a policy choice. Those choices come with a price. “Expensive” is a meaningless term without context.
@InvestW_A_S @da_sails you dont engage meaningfully with EPC until tou have obtained the part 50 or 52 license (beyond feed studies for site specific engineering)…(this is a high level simplistic view for illustration)
@DatHandsomeJerk@HQNewsNow Maintaining DC's monument infrastructure seems like a good idea. Fixing aging, leaking, and non functional assets, to ensure the public can continue to enjoy them and they work, strikes me as a good use of funds.
@v01dp1r4t3@nikitabier@itsrywal The point is the aggregators are not providing attribution and taking all the benefits. It is not their content…you cant use other people’s art to monetize and not pay them. Very obvious and basic concept.
