BREAKING: BYU Athletic Director, @TomHolmoe announces he will retire at the end of the 2024/25 sports season.

Holmoe has been the BYU Athletic Director since 2005.

What a tenure Holmoe had.

Leading BYU back from 3-straight losing seasons in football to winning the Mountain West, hiring Bronco Mendenhall, venturing into Independence with a contract with ESPN, the WCC, hiring Kalani Sitake and finally entering into a coveted Power Four Conference, the Big 12 capped off by an 11-2 season in 2024.

In Men’s Hoops he hired Dave Rose who made the NCAA tournament consistently as an at-large, culminating in Jimmermania and a Sweet 16 in 2011 then were on the precipice with Mark Pope’s special 2020 team and recently the hiring of Kevin Young who has ushered in tremendous signing classes, led by the no. 1 player in the nation, AJ Dybantsa.

The Olympic sports continued to be successful and leveled up with national titles, All-Americans and numerous Olympians. Too many to name!

His Halloween costumes were legendary.

Heck, the dude has four Super Bowl rings. He’s the man.

BYU athletics are in an amazing spot, due in large part to Holmoe’s leadership and tenure.

His connection, hustle, and leadership were incredible.

Congrats to Tom on an amazing career as BYU’s AD.
