In high school, I read an old copy of James Clavell‘s SHŌGUN. 15 years later… I worked on its adaptation! A serious honour working with GREAT Japanese and Canadian cast and crew. Every day felt like you were in ancient Japan! Watch it on @hulu@FXNetworks! @shogunfx#shogunfx
Amazing purple lightning storm last night in Vancouver. Never see anything like it! Few amazing photos (by u/No_Emphasis5998 u/CasuallyExplained) #Vancouver#purplelightning#lightningstorm
It’s nice to know they can still make movies like THE ODYSSEY. A masterpiece. Movies like this are why cinema was invented. #theOdyssey#ChristopherNolan
I’m shocked to hear about Ryan Hurst. I had a great time working with him a few years ago. He’s a great guy. I wish him a speedy recovery! @RamboDonkeyKong
RIP Sam Neill! I had pleasure to work with him two years ago on the tv show UNTAMED, filming all around Vancouver/Whistler/Hope/Nanaimo. I was blown away by his quiet professionalism and grace. A true legend. #samneill
But seriously. Lack of sleep should not be a way to “prove yourself” in the film industry. It should not be a badge to be earned. It is archaic. And it should be fixed.
While we’re on the subject of improving the film industry… enough with 15 hour camera days!
Make 10-hour days (“French hours” as they call it) standard!
Let crew sleep again! The film industry is littered with the nameless who fell asleep at the wheel on the drive home.
