@CodyP2006 @BishieBish@francolopinto It’s relevant because if wales was an active and eager participant in British colonialism I’m not sure how you could argue it’s colonised itself. In a historical sense colonialism is a system and I’m saying that wales was part of the coloniser not the colonised.
@CodyP2006 @BishieBish@8xChampInRed44@francolopinto and again, this is only in terms of the colonial system. Answer honestly if you think the victimisation of wales is equivalent in nature to that of the african or indian colonies?
@CodyP2006 @BishieBish@8xChampInRed44@francolopinto I say this but I also agree that wales should keep its national identity and encourage local language and customs
@CodyP2006 @BishieBish@8xChampInRed44@francolopinto I believe it is important to distinguish between colonisation as an economic and political system and other forms of oppression. If we don’t do so colonisation becomes diluted and will eventually mean solely one country conquering another:
@BishieBish@8xChampInRed44@francolopinto Why did 🏴 industrialise alongside the rest of 🇬🇧 ? why are there 🏴 speaking people in South America? Wales is not colonised it benefited from colonisation in the same way the rest of 🇬🇧 did. Putting 🏴 in the same category of real colonies such as India is disingenuous
