Hey guess what? Their baby boy had an injection straight into the heart that gave it a heart attack, and then jagged instruments grabbed onto his little arms & legs and ripped them off one by one. Then depending on if the head was too big to come out or not, it might’ve been crushed before proceeding. The body was then reassembled on a table, thus making sure all of the organs, parts and limbs weren’t still in the mother. Most likely the organs and limbs were sold, as they often are, for research. This baby wasn’t buried by anyone. This baby deserved so much more.

On May 16, 2025, daycare worker Tiffany Hedrick took Conrad Ashcraft, a nonverbal three-year-old with autism, into a hallway at Poppy's Playhouse in Park Hills, Missouri, because he was crying and whining during nap time.

She lay him on his back and tucked the sides of his blanket under his body, trapping his arms.

When he kept wiggling, she turned him onto his stomach. She then placed an 18.2-pound weighted blanket over his body and over half of his face.

She also placed her legs on his back to hold him down.

After she believed he had fallen asleep, Hedrick never checked on him again. Neither did any other staff member, for four to five hours.

Conrad's mother arrived to collect him and found him dead. His cause of de*th was asphyxiation.

A grand jury indicted Hedrick on charges of second-degree m*rder, armed criminal action, and child abuse resulting in de*th.

Missouri legislators are now pushing Conrad's Law, a bill that would tighten daycare regulations around the use of weighted blankets and mandatory staff training.

In 1967, Margaret Heckler was elected to Congress. She was a practicing lawyer. She still couldn't get a line of credit in her own name. A sitting member of the United States Congress needed a male co-signer to borrow money.

She joined the Banking Committee specifically to fix this. She arranged meetings with CEOs at JP Morgan, Chase, and Wells Fargo. Their concern? Women might not pay their bills.

It took seven more years. Before the Equal Credit Opportunity Act passed in 1974, a single woman needed her father or brother to co-sign loans even if she out-earned them. A married woman needed her husband's permission for a bank account, a credit card, or a mortgage. A widow with perfect payment history could be denied credit because her husband was dead.

That was 52 years ago. Your mother was probably already alive.

The timeline gets worse from there. Marital rape wasn't criminalized in all 50 states until 1993. Some states still treat it differently in sentencing. South Carolina requires married women to prove a threat of physical violence within 30 days of an assault before pursuing a case.

1974 feels like ancient history until you realize the country spent another 19 years debating whether a husband raping his wife was a crime.

A single bottle of exfoliating face wash held up to 330,000 plastic beads. A 2025 study weighed the plastic inside human brains and found roughly seven grams in each one, about the weight of a takeout spoon. Same plastic.

At peak use, around 8 trillion of these beads slid down US drains every single day, enough to cover more than 300 tennis courts. And that figure is only the 1% that slipped past water treatment plants. The other 800 trillion sat in the leftover sludge, which gets spread on farmland as fertilizer and washes back into rivers when it rains.

The beads were called microbeads. A Norwegian researcher named John Ugelstad invented them in the 1970s as a cheap stand-in for ground apricot pits and walnut shells. By 2010 they were in face washes, body scrubs, toothpastes, and even some sunscreens. UK government researchers estimated a single shower could send 100,000 of these beads down the drain.

In December 2015, the US passed a federal law called the Microbead-Free Waters Act. It got unanimous support across the aisle. Factories had to stop making them by July 2017. Stores had to stop selling them by July 2018.

The law had a hole in it the size of half the makeup aisle. It only covered “rinse-off” products. Leave-on stuff like lotions, makeup, deodorants, plastic glitter, cleaning sprays and detergents are all still legal in 2026. In October 2025, California tried to close that loophole with a bill called AB 823. The state Senate voted 39 to 0 in favor. The Governor vetoed it.

A 2025 study in the journal Environmental Science and Pollution Research tested 28 face scrubs from countries that had already banned microbeads. Six out of eight scrubs from full-ban countries still had microbeads in them. Some had 6,298 beads packed into a single gram. Companies got around the ban by switching to a wax that’s chemically almost identical to the banned plastic but is classified as a “semi-liquid.”

The microbeads we already washed off didn’t go anywhere. A team at the University of New Mexico, led by toxicologist Matthew Campen, pulled brain tissue from people who died in 2016 and from people who died in 2024. The 2024 brains held about 50% more plastic than the 2016 ones. Brains of people who had dementia before they died held three to five times more plastic shards than brains of people who didn’t. The team published the findings in Nature Medicine in early 2025.

Microbeads were banned in 2015. Yet they’re still being sold in 2026. A bill to close the gap got vetoed last fall. And the ones we already rinsed off are sitting in our brains.
